Why the Kitchen Is the Most Common Repeat Call
A slow kitchen sink is almost always grease and food waste bonding to scale on the inside of an aging line, usually right past the garbage disposal where the branch turns. A quick cable punches through the plug and the sink drains for a while, but the greasy coating stays on the wall and the sink slows again within weeks. It is the most common repeat call we get in Sun City West, and it is entirely fixable.
The lasting fix is to remove the coating, not just the plug. On a short run that means clearing the buildup at the trap and branch; on a longer run where grease has hardened along several feet of pipe, jetting scours the wall back to full diameter. Either way the goal is a line that drains cleanly for years, not one that creeps back before the next holiday dinner.
