The Real Reason Clogs Keep Coming Back Here
A clog is a symptom. On the 1978 to 1997 cast iron common across Sun City West, the cause is a rough, corroded interior wall coated with hard-water scale from EPCOR groundwater that runs 15 to 22 grains per gallon. That roughness catches hair, grease, and paper that would slide straight through a smooth PVC line.
When a cable bores a pencil-width hole through the plug, water flows again for a week or two, but the pipe is just as narrow as before and the next round of debris catches in the same place. That is the difference between clearing a clog and clearing the cause, and it is why we work the buildup itself rather than declaring victory the moment water moves.
